Department Overview
The Department of Computer Engineering Technology at Idofed Polytechnic bridges the gap between hardware engineering and software development. Our program is designed to provide students with comprehensive theoretical knowledge and hands-on technical skills in computer systems architecture, embedded systems, microprocessors, network infrastructure, electronics design, and software engineering. We empower students to design, build, troubleshoot, and maintain the intelligent systems that drive the modern digital world.
Program Objectives

Hardware & Circuit Design: Master digital electronics, microprocessor systems, circuit analysis, and computer architecture design.

Software Integration: Acquire proficiency in high-level programming languages (C/C++, Python), embedded system programming, and system software development.

Networking & Infrastructure: Gain practical expertise in computer network administration, cyber security principles, and cloud/hardware interfaces.

Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Develop diagnostic skills for identifying, repairing, and optimizing computer hardware, peripherals, and industrial control systems.
Entry Requirements
National Diploma (ND) in Computer Engineering Technology

O’Level Requirements: Minimum of 5 credit passes in SSCE / WAEC / NECO / NABTEB in no more than two sittings, including:

Chemistry

One other science/technical subject (e.g., Technical Drawing, Further Mathematics, Computer Studies, or Metalwork).
