Department Overview
The Department of Statistics at Idofed Polytechnic provides comprehensive education and practical training in data collection, statistical modeling, probability theory, quantitative analysis, and modern computational tools. Our program equips students with the analytical skills needed to solve complex real-world problems, drive data-informed decision-making, and excel across diverse sectors including finance, healthcare, government, market research, and technology.
Program Objectives

Quantitative Proficiency: Develop strong foundations in probability theory, statistical inference, regression analysis, and experimental design.

Data Analytics & Software Skills: Gain hands-on expertise in industry-standard statistical software and tools (such as R, Python, SPSS, SAS, and Excel).

Entry Requirements
National Diploma (ND) in Statistics

O’Level Requirements: Minimum of 5 credit passes in SSCE / WAEC / NECO / NABTEB in no more than two sittings, including:

Physics or Chemistry

Two other subjects from Statistics, Further Mathematics, Economics, Geography, Biology, or Commerce.
